“THERE was a treat for young riders at the latest session of Moto-KL on Thursday, at the Norfolk Arena.
Popping in to see them was former champion Alex Gault, from Scotland, who was on his way to a motorcycling meeting at Snetterton.
Gault started mini moto racing at the age of 10 and won many championships before making the move to motorbikes.
He’s now in the Superstock 600 series, one of the support races alongside the British Superbikes.
Shan Tedder, co-ordinator of Moto-KL, explained: “One of his sponsors is MAG Sport and they also support us, so there was a nice link and the opportunity came up with his trip to Snetterton.
He was very impressed with our set-up and thought it was a fantastic project. He had a chat with the riders and then couldn’t resist getting kitted out and having a go himself.”
Thursday’s session was for novice riders and the next date is Thursday, June 26 with the fourth round of the MHB Services League.
Moto-KL is open to young riders aged 11 to 17 and is sponsored by MAG Sport, Westcotec and MHB Services.
