ALEX GAULT - MAG SPORT RACING 2007 - Aintree
You know there are many Clubs, Associations, Businesses, etc, etc that claim to be “The Friendliest”.
Whether they deserve the description is sometimes questionable?
Dave Edwards and his team at the Aintree Club certainly “DO” deserve the term!
We do not go there as often as we should but every time we do; it is really enjoyable.
I can’t put every thing down in this report but will say, things happen throughout the day that make you smile!
On and off the track.
The Club’s Circuit which is now unfortunately more famous for Horse racing, is only used a handful of times a year but is one of the fastest circuits in the country.
Unfortunately the weather took its toll again, now it had been wet on and off but after first practice a torrential down pour; including hail stones which lasted over 40 minutes left the track flooded and the surrounding ground water logged.
Every one involved did a sterling job to try and clear the water but fought a losing battle.
After about 2 hours of trying, parts of the track were still under 9” of water it was announced the meeting was abandoned and every one made their way home.
Disappointed to miss what promised to be a fantastic days racing.
