Ben Gautrey joins MAG Sport as we continue to promote young riders, mainly through publicity on the MAG Sport website and articles in the MAG members magazine, The Road, where generally newcomers to the sport do not receive “mainstream” recognition.
Fifteen year old Ben is competing in the Aprilia 125 Superteens Challenge, which since its inception back in 1996 the Aprilia Superteens Challenge has been the launch pad for many international racing careers and to date has spawned two world champions, James Toseland and Casey Stoner as well as a host of other riders competing at British and World Championship level.
Ben’s details where forwarded to MAG Sport through MOTO - KL and one of Bens sponsors Buff the original multifunctional item of headwear, has
donated lots of goodies for the MOTO - KL riders.
Ben has his own web blog at www.bengautrey.com where you can follow his progress in his first season of racing and ambition to succeed in road racing.
We at MAG Sport will certainly be following Ben and wish him all the best.

New Bike New Deal - February
Today I went to Fletchers Solicitors in Southport with my bike to meet the guys and have some photos taken for the Visitor.
The last couple of weeks have been mental. I have had my bike tuned, logo'd, logo'd again and gained loads of local support. Bikelegal have stepped up as my main sponsor for this year which is fantastic, Sure Stop Tyres have committed to supporting me and Swims Cool have made traveling that little further easy for me and the folks.
Mallory Park Testing and Launch - March
An early start saw us leave Southport at 4am to get down to Mallory.
The motor home supplied by swims 'cool' was awesome I managed to get some sleep before having to jump on my bike.
The first outing let me get a feel for the bike and track it was a little daunting at the beginning but as the day went on I felt I was progressing well.
Richard from Bikelegal came down and managed to introduce me to Chad from MCN he was testing a single. He gave me some tips on the track which I gratefully took onboard.
The rain settled in for the afternoon which gave me new things to think about. A lot of lads ditched it in the afternoon but my courteous approach meant I was not one of them.
I felt by the end very confident in the bikes performance as well as mine. I didn't like the wet but thought I rode particularly well.
My race starts I am confident with and just hope as the season progresses my ability to ride the bike does as well.
Improving my cornering... - March
I'm feeling very excited at the moment and also nervous. I think I can improve in my cornering areas but I'm sure as the season goes on I'll have that mastered.
I've got a test/instruction day this Friday at Darley Moor with the Mick Boddice Race School where I'll be taking my bike and spending more time on it.
Putoline are helping me out with any oils/lubricants I need offering special deals to me. My auntie gave the company my portfolio whilst at the Exel motorbike show.
Darley Moor - March
I came to the Mick Boddice race school to hopefully pick up some good advice and knowledge from my instructor. the circuit wasn't the best but I improved immensely.
My cornering improved as I was leaning over more and carrying good speed through it and coming out on the right line to increase my speed out of it.
I also found my gear changes were better and my braking before and through corners.
The weather also stayed on my side which was a good thing.
A fantastic build up to his first race and MAG Sport is impressed by Ben’s professional approach.
