End of Season

Thats it

Round 4 of the clubmans challenge at Elvington Park.

Arriving back at elvington seemed quiet different to the dangers of Scarborough hopefully there would be some good results again.

After a few laps in an uneventful practice of we went to the first race.

Race 1 1300 clubmans challenge

With an ok start I found myself in about 6th place passing 2 riders through the race and crossing the line in 4th place but there had been a jump-start (which was obvious because he passes me before I had even seen the flag move). And Peter Wilson had also been disqualified for running on full slicks. So second place it was thank you very much.

 Race 2 600 clubmans challenge

I cannot seem to get the flying starts of last year so another poor start from the front row giving myself so much work to do passing a rider probably every lap to finish in second place.

Race 3 1300 clubmans challenge

Having promising that I would swap Pete Wilson's tyres over for him to put treaded intermediates the officials claimed that they were also illegal which the rule book say's any treaded moulded tyre, so he had to go out on a odd pair of road tyre's. With another fair to crap start I once again playing catch to make the ground up on Goodings getting up to 3rd place before just losing out on the last lap to finish 4th place.

Race 4 600 clubmans challenge

A bit better start with 4th into the first turn getting into second place about half distance. I don't seem to loose any time from Goodings in the lead but just not getting away with him from the start leaves me not been able to be close enough to put a passing move on Mick. Again 2nd place

Race 5 1300 clubmans challenge Trophy race

Getting away in 3rd place (getting better) slipped behind Lingard on his zx6, on the second lap I was on the outside of him to take the place back on the brakes as we just touched and I had to take avoiding action dropping back to 6th or 7th place. As I tried to re pass Pete Wilson I took me about a lap and a half to get though as he just kept shutting the door on his R1 that's the thanks you get from helping some one with tyres (only joking Pete). When I had passed him I was closing up quickly on Lingard's Kawasaki but just not enough laps left finishing 4th place.

Race 6 600 clubmans challenge Trophy race

Almost a repeat of race 4 not getting the start and been too far back to challenge Goodings on his R6 finishing 2nd place.

With so many rounds this year and many been close together I really could do with some finanicial support help to assist me to the end of the season (please anyone)

Next round is Elvington Park on the 3rd June hopefully Auto 66 will have sorted out the problems regarding tyres as the claim is that we should use road legal tyres all times even in the wet (not likely).

Many thanks to Robbo for all the hard work running around after me every weekend and Anthony and Robert Jackson from Kingston Facilities Management (KFM) for the loan of their van.
