British Superbike 2001 Championship
Classes:
Superbike (incorporating Privateers Cup) Supersport Superstock Junior Superstock (16-23 years of age) - subject to further discussions with manufacturers 250GP 125GP (incorporating the Junior Under 23 Championship)
Eligibility & Registration: All competitors must be registered with BMP Selection for BSB 2001 will, in the first instance, be dependant on performance in the relevant BSB 2000 or FIM Championships
Permanent registrations per class will be limited as follows: Superbike - 26 Supersport - 30 Superstock - 30 Junior Superstock - 30 250GP - 30 125GP - 30
Registration Fees will include annual championship registration fees, rider entry fees to all rounds and timing fees.
For the Superbike, Supersport, Superstock, 250GP and 125GP classes the cost will be as follows:
2-Rider Teams - £ 4,100.00 To include up to 20 team (photo) passes, all necessary working, support and private vehicle passes.
1-Rider Teams - £ 2,050.00 To include up to 10 team (photo) passes, all necessary working, support and private vehicle passes.
Additional Rider or satellite machine - £ 2,050.00
For the Junior Superstock Championship the cost will be:
2-Rider Teams - £ 3,600.00 To include up to 20 team (photo) passes, all necessary working, support and private vehicle passes.
1-Rider Teams - £ 1,800.00 To include up to 10 team (photo) passes, all necessary working, support and private vehicle passes.
Additional Rider or satellite machine - £ 1,800.00
Registrations will be accepted from 1st January 2001 Deadline for the receipt of Registrations is 16th February 2001 Selection will take place between 19th and 23rd February 2001
Payment: The full amount shall be paid in one instalment by means of one cheque issued in the name of British Motorsport Promoters Ltd. To be received and cleared by BMP no later than 1st March 2001. BMP reserve the right to eject and application at it's entire discretion and return the cheque in full.
Payment in instalments for non-works teams may be considered on the following basis: Payment 50% of the total fee by 1st March 2001, followed by payment of the remanding 50% of the total fee by 1st July 2001. In exceptional circumstances a competitor may enter for a single round of the championship by paying a one event registration fee of £ 50.00 (£25.00 for the Junior Superstock) together with the entry fee of £ 130.00 (£ 115.00 for Junior Superstock).
Sponsor/Guest Passes All passes for guests and sponsors MUST be bought separately according to the following scale:
50 Passes - £ 6,000.00 (Average cost per ticket is £ 120.00 = £9.23/Championship round) 30 Passes - £ 3,600.00 (Same) 15 Passes - £ 1,800.00 (Same) 10 Passes - £ 1,300.00 (Average cost per ticket is £ 130.00 = £10.00/Championship round) 5 Passes - £ 650.00 (Same)
Payment Cheques should be issued in the name of British Motorsport Promoters Ltd.
Numbers: Registered competitors will be allocated a permanent competition number for the Championship. Numbers 2-10 will be allocated to the top ten riders in the relevant 2000 British Championships in ALL classes. The No.1 plate will be issued to last year's champion only in ALL classes. Any of the numbers 2-10, which are not taken by the top ten riders, will not be allocated to other competitors. All numbers will be allocated at the discretion of BMP.
National Motorcycle Championships (NMC) / MRO In 2001, BMP will be making use of a promotional system between the current MRO Championships (to be re-named 'National Motorcycle Championships (NMC)), whereby 6 riders will be promoted at each event from NMC to BSB. The calendar has been structured, for the most part, to allow this kind of promotion, to allow riders to develop through Nationals to BSB. The 6 riders promoted will be as follows: Top 3 in each respective Championship (Supersport/Superstock/250GP/125GP) 3 Promotor's/Organisors choices
2001 Innovations BSB 2001 Paddock Show - motorcycle displays, interactive games etc. British Junior Superstock Championship - 16-23 year olds only. The 2001 Champion is guaranteed an entry to the European Superstock Championship the following year. Supersprint - Races for Supersport and Superstock Championships on Saturday afternoons to set the grids for the main feature races on Sunday. BSB Superpole - A 12 lap, 40 minute 'shoot-out' for the top 12 Superbike qualifiers on the Saturday at each event.
