New Era Club Championships Snetterton 6th & 7th July

Saturday, and James was placed on the 6^th row for the start of race one on Saturday in the New ERA Club Championship weekend at Snetterton. 

From the green light he worked his way to 12^th position and after two laps, James found himself in a space chasing the pack in front.  He eventually caught them and gained two places to finish 10^th. 

Being further up the grid for race two was hopefully going to give James a better chance of a higher finish. 

James was racing with nine other bikes battling for 3^rd to 11^th place. Despite posting a race time some 1½ second faster than race one he only finished 11^th. 

 James was determined to get that elusive top 10 finish on Sunday and in race one he came extremely close.  Starting from the 6^th row he swiftly worked his way to 12^th place again. The bike he was battling with was slightly faster on the straights, but a good slipstreaming and out braking manoeuvre at the end of the back straight saw James in 11^th place on the last lap. James was gifted 10^th place when a rider in front, under pressure from James, crashed at the last corner before the chequered flag. 

More determined for a top 10 finish and with a new rear tyre fitted James made an excellent start in race two and made it to 8^th place at the end of the first lap.  Throughout the race he and five other bikes swapped places in a thrilling clash.  James rode an outstanding race and finished 7^th with a new personal best lap of 1.14.69, not bad for a standard bike.

 Unfortunately due to lack of funds we will not be able to go to Oulton Park on 20^th July and Silverstone at the beginning of August is also in doubt. Hopefully we'll be back in action for the Gary Walker Memorial Meeting at Mallory Park on 11^th August.
