Sponsorship Fund in Memory of Joey Dunlop 2002
MAG Sport and MAG have launched a Sponsorship Fund in memory of Joey Dunlop for MAG Members that race at the TT.
Motorcycling lost one of it's most famous and legendary ambassadors of the sport with the death of Joey Dunlop in July 2000.
Joey was a MAG member, who joined up of his own accord with no coercion from MAG Sport.
Among his many sporting achievements through his career he was awarded the MBE in the 1980's for his contribution to Motorcycle Sport and an OBE for his charity work.
The sum of £500 will be awarded to a racer who has been a MAG member for one year prior to the application who is competing as a newcomer in the Isle of Man TT Races each year.
The winner of the award will be decided by the MAG Sport Working Group and an independent member of MAG's Board after each year's TT.
We hope this will go some way to helping the next "Joey" to compete on the race course that Joey loved the most.
Rider for 2002 was Duncan Baillie
