Newest MAG member to join MAG Sport Racing for 2001

Stuart Machin is 31 years young and has been riding bikes since he was 16.

For the last 10 years he has been a road race marshal covering all events from club meetings to GP & WSB although he now just sticks to club meetings Stuart says there is "less hassle / red tape and more civilised treatment" the last 5 years he has been a sector marshal.

Stuarts highlights have included receiving the New Era club Marshal of the Year award in 1996 & 2000 which he says "looks good on the mantelpiece".

Stuart added "I've always wanted to race though, and this year finding myself as a single lad again and living with mother means I can almost afford it. So I've bought a Honda CB500 and entered the New Era CB500 cup series."

"My first race was at Mallory Park on 18th March in the snow ( great start to my racing career ! ), where I managed 7th in class."

"The 2nd & 3rd rounds of the championship were at Cadwell Park on 15th & 16th April resulting in a 7th & 6th in the two championship races, leaving me a very happy 5th in the championship.
Highlight of the weekend was passing a ZX9R into Mansfield in the novice race, though he got me back on the straight for some reason ..."

"As I can't afford to enter the Superclub series ( cue pleas for sponsorship ) I'll be keeping my hand in on the old marshaling trade at Mallory and Donington and my next race will be back at Cadwell on 12th & 13th May."
