Lydden April 20/4/02

Saturday

The weather was fine for once at a Lydden race weekend. I was out in the first race and feeling good after testing there earlier doing 47's. I fluffed the start and dropped from 9th to 15th. A race long battle in midfield saw me finish 13th. Starting from 13th in the second race left me with a lot of work to do.I finished 12th but my times were down to 46.5.

Sunday

Another hot day with racing kicking off at 1.00pm. Starting from 12th on the grid I managed consistent 46's to finish 9th. Well happy as I beat the guy who won at Snetterton. The second race from 9th on the grid saw consistent 46's again to finish 9th.

A good weekend as it happens.

 I seriously need to learn how to set the bike up as I was sliding everywhere. I am sure this is costing me a second or so a lap which would have put me top 4 every race. I also did the supersport 600 races as extra track time and managed 45's as the pace was so hot. I have no idea why I couldn't do those times in Clubman but I was only 1.5 seconds slower than Daniel Fowler who does BSB 600's. All I know is, I am getting faster every time and a win is close now. Watch this space.
