Racing Information
1999 UK Junior Challenge at Darley Moor: Finished 8th. Total farce of a championship. First lessons learnt in how much cheating goes on at club level, and that if you're buddies with Eddie Nelson, you can write your own rule book. 2000 Aprilia Superteen: No points scored. Assumed BSB would be run very professionally. Ha bloody ha. Again, if you were a buddy of Ian Newton, you could do what you liked. Cheating! You would not believe it. Now convinced I am a mug for sticking to the rules.
2001 Bemsee 600 Clubman Championship: Scored 6 points. What a difference.Thoroughly enjoyed the whole year. Club atmosphere is soooo much better. No politics. Looking forward to next season with Ricky Chadwick's spare bike now in our sweaty mitts. Favourite circuit: Cadwell Park
First race: Darley Moor March '99 Best moment: 3rd at Silverstone in pouring rain.Led the race for 4 laps and received first ever trophy.
Worst moment: Crashing at Paddock Hill, Brands Hatch. Totally smashed the bike up
Racing ambition: Supersport World Champion
Current sponsors: Mag Sport, DHR Racing 01304 829829, Mortimers of Canterbury 01227 830510 Dad.
Racing superstitions: Dad must say "good luck, see you later" before he goes on circuit
Anything else?:Written by Tims Dad, Darren Capper: Contrary to what people think, Tim has never done any form of motor sport before he started racing. He learnt to ride a bike with gears two weeks before his first race in March '99. We know people who have said this, but, we know that they have been racing since they were six. I don't believe that Tim gets enough credit for what he has achieved in such a short time. We have no racing background in our family and have started from scratch trying to make contacts, etc.
Having said that, the paddock is the best place in the world. We have made loads of new friends and feel part of the family. I have never raced unfortunately. After getting knocked off my ZX7R in '98 and losing my right leg below the knee and a partially paralysed right arm and hand. Decided to go racing as I had always wanted to. I am very lucky to have a son who was willing to give it a shot for me.
