Southern 100 2000

                                                 2000 TT Review

Formula 1: I qualified in 12th place on the R1 Yamaha and was holding a top ten position on the second lap when I heard a small tingling noise. I pulled over and stopped at May Hill in Ramsey and checked the bike over, seen nothing wrong so off I went again. As I was about to approach Ramsey Hairpin there was a small pop, so I again pulled in, I looked down andReady for the Off! there was no engine casing, the bolt that holds on the flywheel had broke. Very scary indeed.

Junior TT: I was number six away on the R6 Yamaha the bike was flying and I was in 13th position. I followed Rutter and Jeffries to Ramsey. Through the start and finish to start my second lap at Ballacraine the bike started to misfire and stopped going at Glenhelen (the air box was being pressurised) while holding 5th place, very disappointed. Had to drink plenty of beer that evening.

Senior TT: I qualified 27th for the race, which I enjoyed alot, taking the first lap too cautious because we had just rebuilt the R1 and I was a bit nervous to see how it was running. Finished eventually in 15th position and a Bronze replica.

I wasn't as disappointed as I should have been, I have competed in four TT's and two Manx GP's and nothing went wrong so I can't complain and as usual at the TT there was plenty of night time entertainment ( Tit's and Beer) to make up for the disappointment. See ya all next year.
