WEBSITE OF THE MONTH BIKERNEWS.CO.UK
Previous Featured Websites Chrysalis Racing and Triumph
For this issue the website chosen is bikernews.co.uk. Owned by Glen Le Santo, a very respected freelance motorcycle journalist and kept up to date by Namai and Tara Le Santo, which keeps it nicely within the family so to speak.
This is an excellent text based website that is very quick to open as there are no graphics at all, no fancy Flash pages, just plain text. Bikernews is exactly what it says, a news feed website with everything and anything relating to motorcycles and motorcycle sport.
The main index page opens with a list of what is described as a "quick byte" which is basically a heading with a few lines of text relating to each article. To read the whole article if it should interest you simply click on "Full Story" and a new window opens with the whole news story. Dead easy and quick.
Bikernews also has a very helpful advice and questions page where you can fire off a post with your problem and they will endeavour to help you out, although this may take some time depending on how busy they are.
If you want to talk bikes on-line bikernews is linked into the busy newsgroup named visordown.com which again will open as a new window when you click on the visordown forum link. You will have to register a screen name and password to participate in visordown, but once done it's subject content ranges from General Messages to dedicated subjects.
Get out there, get on-line and talk bikes.
