ACU Supermono Championship: Round 5 & 6 - Castle Coombe - Superbike Grand National - July 30th & 31st (or Leighton Hospital to be Precise)
It was a bit of a rush getting ready for Castle Coombe with only having a week since Aberdare Park.
Brian took the Supermono back with him and I set to preparing my RVF 400 for the Manx Grand Prix.
Brian had so much trouble with his 400 last year that I told him to take mine across as a spare.
As usual I’d got another party on the Friday night, this time my cousin’s 21st Birthday.
The plan was to go to the party and my brother mike was coming back with me and was going to drive the van through the night for me, Brian would already be set up at the track.
I was all loaded up to go racing and we were getting ready to go to the party when Charlene’s waters broke (two weeks early)…
Consequently we ended up in hospital for the weekend. However I’m very glad they broke when they did and not when I was 200 miles away.
Jack Thomas Castle was eventually born at 11:14 on Sunday morning, 31st July.
He’s got a good throttle grip already, which is a good sign and Charlene and Baby are doing very well indeed!!
We even had our first trip to the Superbikes at Oulton last Saturday for the Qualifying and the Superstock Cup race in which Kenny Gilbertson was competing in for my sponsors S&S Tuning.
