 No More Shilly-Shallying

Demo against Bike Parking tax on the 15th January to Tory HQ and full campaign "Write Now - Right Now".
The time for actual direct action has never been more prevalent.
On 18th February 2009, Westminster City Council (WCC) will enter a brief consultation period to decide whether to make this bike-parking tax permanent.
WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!
Therefore, if like us, you are truly committed to seeing this tax scrapped, we need you to do one, some or all of the following:-
- Download, and get all your family & friends to complete & post an official "Objection" letter.
Should you find expressing your "reasons" difficult, some templated examples will be available on our site details here, this applies to every one of you, even if you are based outside London this parking tax will spread the the rest of UK and beyond.
FYI, WCC Officials were heard gloating that they have only received 138 of these so far.
Not surprising when you consider that they firstly DON'T accept emails as official objections, and that they took down the notices telling potential objectors where to send their letters.
Having unsubtly drawn this to their attention, they have conceded to re-affix the notices to the street-poles, which you can read here.
WRITE NOW, RIGHT NOW.
- Whatever your political persuasion, you must write to David Cameron (30 Millbank, London, SW1P 4DP) expressing your "disappointment" at this TORY STEALTH TAX by their "Local boys" presumably to fund the heavy-publicised national tax-cuts being muted by Shadow Chancellor George Osborne.
Crucially you must end this letter with the words "YOU HAVE LOST MY VOTE", even if they never had your vote in the first place.
WRITE NOW, RIGHT NOW.
- This link is a copy of the letter we sent to Mr Cameron not only asking whether this sort of stealth tax is to be expected from a Tory Government, but also, if it isn't, then Cllr Danny Chalkley must be booted out of the party for not following the party line.
We are going to end our demo on 15th January (demo route and more details for the day here) at Tory Party HQ to hear Mr Cameron's response.
