MAG Sport Team 2008

MAG Sport Racing, the motorcycle racing team of MAG Sport and the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), has launched the team for 2008.

MAG Sport Racing has come a very long way since Allen Burton and founder members Stephen Dunne, John Leon, Lee Parslow and Warren Pickles started MAG Sport in 1994.

The intention was and remains, to diversify MAG's recruitment drive and target sports bike/race rep riders and other non-committed leisure orientated members of the biking community and to persuade them to join MAG.

MAG Sport Racing consists of a group of individual riders all of whom are MAG members, and other race teams, who will be competing at various championship levels throughout the UK, Europe and World Championships.

MAG Sport supports young riders, mainly through publicity on the MAG Sport website and articles in the MAG members magazine, The Road, where generally newcomers to the sport do not receive “mainstream” recognition.

A small amount of sponsorship is made available to selected riders, these riders have generally served an “apprenticeship” in MAG Sport by submitting reports and carrying MAG Sport stickers on their bikes.

The Team for 2008 consists of Alex Gault - MPS Husqvarna - MOTO KL and supporting Ben Gautrey.

Alex Gault:

Alex GaultWho has been with MAG Sport for several years, will take to the track in the much anticipated and hotly contested National Super Stock 600 Championships aboard the Official Kawasaki entry with team ASTRO Kawasaki.

The Kawasaki Alex is to use is 2008 ZX6R Machine, 600cc and hoped to be around 123 BHP with a top speed around the 155 mph mark.

The engine has been prepared by YPE Power in Edinburgh

Gav Houston will build on his rapid improvement and continue with UEM Enduro Championship and BEC. MPS Husqvarna will also be assisting Rhinallt Davies and David Lloyd Jones in the BEC and not forgetting
Mick and Mark Houson renewing their battle in the Vets
both on new bikes TE 450 and WR 25.

MOTO KL:

MOTO KLRunning alongside MAG Sport and an integral part of the team is MAG Sport Juniors.

MAG Sport J’s was formed to address the safety issues of youngsters riding mini motos illegally, without proper safety equipment and proper safety training.

Both MAG Sport J’s and MAG Energy race in the MAG Sport supported MOTO KL project.

MOTO KL shows the advantages, benefits and enjoyment that these much maligned machines and riders can have when used in a constructive manner.

MOTO KL is becoming recognised as a “best practice” to offer riders an opportunity to achieve accredited diplomas based on the Norfolk County Council Norfolk Youth Awards scheme, whereby riders will be able to undertake such diplomas as Personal Challenge, Difference in the Community, and Working With Others.

BBen Gautreyen Gautrey:

Fifteen year old Ben is competing in the Aprilia 125 Superteens Challenge.

Ben joins MAG Sport as we continue to promote young riders, mainly through publicity on the MAG Sport website and articles in the MAG members magazine, The Road, where generally newcomers to the sport do not receive “mainstream” recognition.

Why do they do it?

Well it's not for the fame or fortune or the brolly girls, or is it? I'm sure the riders wouldn't complain if any of these came their way.

Now, and I think I speak for all of us; it's the buzz, the exhilaration of racing and the camaraderie of the racing fraternity which is mirrored in motorcyclists throughout the globe.

If along they way we can boost the membership of MAG then so much the better.

Come along and speak to the team, they will always be glad to chat.

You never know they may even need a little help with recruiting more members and that's what MAG Sport Racing is about.

Support

Motorcycle racing is very expensive and the support of sponsors is a must if the riders are to progress and achieve good results.

MAG Sport Racing offers what support it can and always welcomes contributions from other sources.

Motorcycle racing offers unequalled advertising opportunities for companies or individuals.

Any company or individuals who wish to know more about these opportunities, within MAG Sport, or if you just want to know more about MAG Sport Racing visit the MAG Sport Racing website at:
