Chris Jones Riders Fund - Brands Hatch World Superbikes 2nd & 3rd August 2008

Issued 30th July 2008

Picture Courtesy www.doublered.comAs the World's best riders prepare to battle it out on track this weekend at what is set to be one of the most exciting race weekend's of the year.

The Chris Jones Riders Fund will be there in force with their stand and various helpers, pop in say hello and make a donation, for just £1 you could also be in with a chance of winning a Honda 600 in Hannspree colours.

Not only that but you can be part of the 'Fred and Scoop Charity Chat Show' which will take place at the Brands Hatch Thistle Hotel, situated at the main entrance, on Friday night, 1st August from 7pm, entry is only £5 with all proceeds going to the CJ Fund.

Top names will be attending from the World Superbike scene and once again the chat show will provide some light entertainment as the riders are quizzed by circuit commentators Fred Clarke and Larry 'Scoop' Carter.

Brands Hatch will see our usual regular World Superbike contenders fighting it out including Jonathan Rea, Craig Jones, ex British Champions Kiyonari and Lavilla and ex British Superstock Champion Brendan Roberts, plus this weekend Chris 'Stalker' Walker will be stepping up to the World Superbike class with the Paul Bird Team.

Plus wild card riders Simon Andrews, Tom Sykes, Karl Harris, Billy McConnell, Steve Plater, Hudson Kennaugh and many more will be giving the expected strong crowd plenty to cheer about and once again it is set to be another fantastic racing weekend.

Notes

** The CJ Riders Fund was established in early 2006 when 14-year-old Chris Jones lost his life in a tragic racing accident at Cadwell Park in August 2005.

The CJ Riders Fund (CJRF) was set up in Chris' memory to raise money within the motorcycle industry to provide vital medical equipment and improve the safety at the British Motorcycle Races.

The CJ Riders Fund has proved to become a vital part of the British Superbike series, having provided the X-ray machine at the start of 2007. 2008 has seen the Chris Jones Riders Fund supply the BSB medical centres with three physiotherapists
( www.backontrackphysio.org ) who attend every British Superbike round.

An ice machine for a permanent supply of ready-made ice for riders injuries, three radiologists who are in control of the X-ray machine plus we are currently testing out two ultra sound machines to detect any internal injuries the riders may have suffered.**
